Focus and Scope

CJSSP is an edited and double-blind peer-reviewed journal, published in yearly volumes of two issues. It publishes original academic articles, forum notes, and reviews from sociology, social policy and related fields in English.

It invites contributions from the international community of social researchers.

The journal covers a widerange of relevant social issues.

It is open to new questions, unusual perspectives, explorations and explanations of social and economic behavior, local society, or supranational challenges. Strong preference is given to problem-oriented, theoretically grounded empirical researches, comparative findings, logical arguments and careful methodological solutions.

CJSSP aims to respect publication ethics, thus has adopted current best practices to counter plagiarism. The submitted articles are analyzed during the review process, and papers subject to plagiarism are rejected. Also the authors are to comply with the referencing guidelines outlined in the relevant section.

The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. With similar objectives we do not charge authors for the publication of their articles. Articles submission and processing is free of charge as well. Users can use and build upon the material published in the journal for non-commercial purposes.

CJSSP is financed by the Sociology Doctoral Program of CUB. It is published in yearly volumes of two issues. It is indexed by EBSCO, CEEOL, Google Scholar, Sociological Abstracts, WoS ESCI, EconBib, Index Copernicus, Scopus, IBSS Proquest and InfoBase Index. CJSSP is reposited at Corvinus Research (http://unipub.lib.uni-corvinus.hu/).

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts, with the exception of book reviews, undergo double anonymized peer review. Every submission is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. If required, further reviewers are involved in the review process.
During the process reviewers interact with Editor and no information about peer review is published with the articles. Reviewers are selected among external experts and recommendations of authors are not solicited. Authors are usually notified within three months about the result of the review. Decision regarding publication is made by the Editor in consultation with the Editor in Chief.

All forms of plagiarism constitute unethical publishing behavior and are unacceptable. Submitted articles are checked by an appropriate software.
